Guided tours of the City of Barletta and the most significant monuments of Apulian history
It’s a walking tour of the famous Colossus, the Cantina della Disfida (Tavern of the Challenge), the Cathedral and the Castle:

The Colossus Eraclio, called in dialect Aré, is an imposing bronze statue dating back to the Early Middle Ages, more than 5m / 16ft high.

The Cantina Della Disfida, the place where they held the banquet, during which the soldiers came to the provocation that lead to the famous tournament, known as “Disfida di Barletta”, “the Challenge of Barletta”.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore, a rare example of Gothic style with a previous Romanesque layout.

The Castle, ancient fortress and prison, is the largest in Puglia; it preserves the statue of Frederick II.
It is located a few meters from the seafront and, besides an imposing moat surrounding the castle, in front of the main entrance there are the gardens of the city of Barletta.

And it is from here that we will begin our guided tour.

Everyone tells us that it is a historical visit, with clear references to the key events that have marked Apulia and southern Italy, and that is true!

The City of Barletta is very interesting and for many people a surprise because you can see and touch the signs of history, the ones that were directly experienced by locals or told by their ancestors.
You will be thrilled because all the monuments are imposing and full of meaning, a walk full of details and beauties that still today represent entire eras.
